Jeremy Varner, LCT
Jeremy is New Tide Connect's Director of Clinical Services.
Jeremy enjoys reading, watching hockey (Go Leaf’s), and spending time with his son. Jeremy has been in the helping profession for over 15 years working in a variety of front-line roles including child protection and family support, case management and housing, and criminal justice. More recently, Jeremy has worked as a Counselling Therapist and Outreach Therapist with Atlantic Wellness in Moncton, as the Regional Clinical Supervisor for the Child and Youth Counselling Program in Yellowknife, and taught in the Human Services Practitioner program at NBCC Miramichi.
Jeremy has a Bachelor of Arts (Criminology & Psychology) from St. Thomas University, a Family and Community Services diploma from Oulton College, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.

Christa Vail, RSW
Christa is a Registered Social Worker through the New Brunswick Social Workers Association as well as the Nova Scotia Social Worker’s Association. Originally from the Miramichi area, Christa has dedicated her career to supporting individuals and communities through compassionate, trauma-informed care and has nearly a decade of experience in crisis intervention and mental health.
Her academic background includes a Diploma in Child and Youth Care from New Brunswick Community College, a Bachelor of Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from the University of New Brunswick, and a Bachelor of Social Work from Dalhousie University. She is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work at the University of Calgary, a specialized program focused on clinical work with individuals, families, and groups.
Christa works with school-aged children and adults, tailoring her support to meet their unique needs. She has extensive experience at the intersection of mental health, addictions, and the justice system. Christa is passionate about supporting individuals impacted by domestic and sexual violence. Alongside helping those affected, she also works with individuals who have caused harm, guiding them to develop healthier coping strategies and break cycles of abuse.
Her areas of interest include men’s mental health, addiction, identity work, and addressing childhood trauma. Christa’s warm, authentic, and laid-back approach is built on collaboration and professionalism, creating a safe space for healing and growth.

Hafsa Yasin, CCC
Hafsa is a dedicated and compassionate counsellor committed to fostering authenticity and facilitating individuals' journeys toward self-discovery. With a strong multicultural perspective, she recognizes the importance of connection, empathy, and respect in the therapeutic process. Drawing on her extensive background as a physician, Hafsa adopts a holistic approach to mental health, utilizing a bio-psycho-social lens that acknowledges individuals as complex beings beyond their symptoms and circumstances. She believes that true healing occurs when we look beyond these constructs. Hafsa is a Certified Canadian Counsellor through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
Hafsa offers individual, couples, and family counselling. Her expertise encompasses a wide range of challenges, including trauma, depression, anxiety, addiction, self-esteem issues, and relational difficulties. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in trauma-informed, person-centered therapy, emphasizing the strengths of her clients. She employs a variety of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy to tailor her interventions to each client's unique needs. Hafsa offers services in English, Urdu, Hindi, and can facilitate some Punjabi speaking clients.
Outside of her counselling practice, Hafsa embraces her role as a mother to two young daughters. She values outdoor activities such as swimming and hiking and has a deep appreciation for the arts and music, often dedicating her free time to painting and creative expression.

Meghan Hobbs, CCC
Meghan is a Certified Canadian Counsellor through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Meghan has spent her entire life living and working in the north, calling Yellowknife her home. Meghan has mixed settler and Whitecap Dakota First Nation ancestry and is on a journey to reclaim her family identity and language. When she is not working, Meghan enjoys spending her time with her many animals and partner while taking on new crafting ideas such as traditional beaded art, pottery, and sewing.
Meghan takes a person-centered approach to working with people - trusting that they are the expert in themselves, and she is there to provide support and a compassionate ear along the way to meet their goals. Meghan has experience working with 2SLGBTQA+ individuals, Indigenous individuals and those with anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, and self-esteem concerns.
Meghan has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Vancouver Island University and a Master of Arts Degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Meghan is a certified facilitator for Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and Mental Health First Aid – Northern Peoples (MHFA-NP).

Emily Cardwell, CCC, RP-Q
Emily is a Certified Canadian Counsellor through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association as well as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) through the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Emily has a deep commitment to supporting individuals and couples on their journey to wellness and empowerment. Her passion for mental health and well-being was ignited through 12 years of work in community services, including roles with Kids Help Phone and the Canadian National Institute for the Blind.
Emily offers services to individuals and couples of all backgrounds, gender identities, and lifestyles, helping clients navigate concerns such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship dynamics, communication, and burnout. She has a particular passion for relationship health—whether in partnerships, family, friendships, or professional settings—and is dedicated to promoting men’s mental health as well.
Taking a trauma-informed, person-centred approach, Emily draws from Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and other therapeutic styles to create a tailored approach that feels safe, non-judgmental, and collaborative, supporting clients in addressing their unique goals and concerns.
Outside of counselling, Emily enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, exploring her home province of Newfoundland and Labrador, and reading a good book.

Tanya Trenhaile, C.C.C., LCT-C
Tanya is a Certified Canadian Counsellor through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association as well as a Licensed Counselling Therapist - Candidate through the College of Counselling Therapists of New Brunswick. Tanya is a compassionate and skilled counsellor who brings a wealth of experience and a multicultural perspective to her practice.
Growing up in Calgary, Alberta, she always felt a strong connection to the Maritimes through her family’s roots. After leaving the west, her journey took her to Costa Rica, where she spent a year and a half teaching English, learning Spanish, and immersing herself in Latin culture—an experience that broadened her understanding and enriched her counselling approach. She finally relocated to the East Coast in 2019 and has been happy to live in both New Brunswick and Nova Scotia since.
Tanya worked as the Clinic Coordinator and Youth Counsellor at Atlantic Wellness in Moncton, before relocating to Halifax in 2022 to provide virtual therapy services. She has years of experience working with both youth and adults, helping clients navigate challenges such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation, and burnout. Tanya uses a trauma-informed, integrative approach that draws from a variety of therapeutic modalities, including CBT, DBT, ACT, and mindfulness.
Outside of her counselling work, Tanya enjoys Latin dancing, spending time with her dog, yoga, and soaking up sunshine by the ocean.

Brooke Growden, RP-Q
Brooke is a Registered Psychotherapist-Qualifying through the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She has over 20 years of experience as an academic and educator. Her educational background includes an MEd, MA in Counselling Psychology, and a PhD. In addition to her work as a psychotherapist, Brooke teaches Learning, Leadership, and Reflective Practice at the Graduate Studies level. Her primary focus is on delivering compassionate psychotherapy services to individuals who are navigating the intricate complexities of everyday life.
Brooke provides services to individuals aged 18 and up with support in areas of anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, overwhelm, boundary setting, parenting, life transitions, post-secondary and academia, trauma, and PTSD.
Drawing on her experience as an academic and educator, Brooke takes an eclectic approach to supporting her clients. She draws on many trainings and theories to support her client’s experiences including Buddhist psychology and mindfulness, traumatic stress studies, attachment, and psychodynamic theories.
When Brooke isn’t working, she spends her summers at the beach, and her winters by her woodstove. When she isn’t mothering her two active teenage children—yoga, cross country skiing, and reading are where she turns for self-care and relaxation.

Kiera Stillwell, C.C.C., LCT-C
Kiera is a small-town girl who grew up in the beautiful countryside of Keswick Ridge, New Brunswick, yet has lived in Fredericton, NB for the majority of her adult life. In 2016, Kiera relocated to Bangkok, Thailand where she taught English as a Second Language to young children for a period of two years. Kiera is a Certified Canadian Counsellor - Qualifying through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and a Licensed Counselling Therapist - Candidate through the College of Counselling Therapists of New Brunswick.
Kiera is a passionate world traveller having been to 32 countries so far, an energetic foodie, and is big on time spent with family (especially her adorable nieces and nephew!). Kiera has been involved in a variety of roles pertaining to helping diverse populations since her graduation from her Psychology degree in 2013. Kiera has fulfilled the role of behavioral therapist for adolescents with ASD in Calgary, Alberta, as well as being a qualified teacher in both domestic and international domains for the last nine years. She has also worked as an Employment Counsellor for the Government of New Brunswick as well as worked with youth and adults within different group homes over the years.
Kiera possesses her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and English from St. Thomas University, a Bachelor of Education from the University of New Brunswick, and a Master’s in Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University.
Kiera is comfortable working with individuals of all ages and provides a warm and non-judgmental approach towards all situations using a person-centered and solution-focused approach that incorporates elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy. Kiera’s counselling passions revolve around treating grief and loss, addressing trauma from childhood and beyond, along with having a keen focus on helping individuals navigate their experiences living with ADHD and various mood/personality disorders.

Mireille Robichaud, RSW
Mireille is a Registered Social Worker through the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers. Mireille is a mother of 3 and has 19 years of experience as a social worker and therapist. Mireille is from the St. Louis region and has worked a large part of her career in Miramichi and Elsipogtog First Nation.
Mireille works with individuals, couples, and families and can help with people struggling with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma and stress, and more.
Mireille offers services in both English and French.

Nicole Adoranti, CCC
Located in Vancouver, Nicole uses her knowledge in Western Psychology gained through a Masters in Counselling Psychology which helps people face and work to overcome their own suffering, achieve meaningful goals and strengthen relationships. Nicole is a Canadian Certified Counsellor through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and completed a Fertility Counselling post-graduate course in order to better serve clients struggling with infertility and undergoing assisted reproductive therapies.
Nicole has been the witness of many people remembering that they are the masters of their own destinies. As your therapist, Nicole can offer you the opportunity to look at alternative viewpoints of your issues and make suggestions for change that are gentle, progressive, sustainable and realistic.
Nicole has a focus on working with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, reproductive challenges, grief and loss, trauma, attachment issues, maternal mental health, people pleasing, stress, burnout, relationship issues and boundary setting.

Robyn MacDonald, CCC, RCT
Robyn is a Certified Canadian Counsellor through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and a Licensed Counselling Therapist through the College of Counselling Therapy of Prince Edward Island. She has always had a passion for helping people, and in 2020, felt called to go back to school to train as a counselling therapist. Robyn enjoys spending time with her family, friends and pets, scavenging beaches for sea junk, reading, listening to podcasts and reality tv.
Robyn graduated from Yorkville University’s Master of Counselling Psychology program in September 2023. She has experience working with adults and teens dealing with issues related to anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD and self-esteem. She works from a trauma-informed, person-centred perspective, and loves to be an advocate for change and social justice. She uses a variety of therapeutic methods such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Inference based-CBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy, the Gottman method, and expressive arts.

Emily Forrest, CCC
Emily grew up in rural Nova Scotia before moving to Alberta, relocating to Prince Edward Island, and then returned to Alberta where she practices today. Emily is a Certified Canadian Counsellor - Qualifying through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
Emily enjoys reading books of all genres, watching live sports, attending live music events, and spending time with her pets and wife. Emily has worked in various sectors of the helping profession for over 10 years, including addictions and mental health, outreach, school guidance, early years autism, domestic violence, high conflict separation and family mediation in Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Alberta.
Emily attended Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Ethnocultural Diversity, a diploma in Applied Psychology and Counselling from Kelowna College of Professional Counselling, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.
Emily can help with anxiety, depression, substance use, high-conflict separation, identity and sexuality exploration, self-esteem, trauma, grief loss and family dynamics. Theresa Brannen, RP
Theresa is a Certified Canadian Counsellor through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and a Registered Psychotherapist - Qualifying through the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She grew up near Ottawa, Ontario, but lived in both Fredericton and Lower Millstream, New Brunswick from 2020-2023. In 2023, Theresa relocated to Kingston, Ontario.
Theresa has been in the helping profession since 2013 and has worked in a variety of front-line roles including as a support worker in group homes in both Ontario and New Brunswick, an educational assistant in school settings, and with children/youth in a variety of positions including BGC and other not for profit organizations.
Theresa has been providing individual therapy to youth from age 10 and up from military families since September 2023. She has worked virtually for an Employee Family Assistance Program (EFAP) offering support to clients from a variety of modalities but more specifically through a solution focused lens. Theresa has both personal and professional experience working with clients who are neurodiverse (specifically ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and AuDHD) in both a therapeutic setting and in her previous experience.
Theresa has an Advanced Child and Youth Worker diploma from St. Lawrence College, a Bachelor of Art Honours Psychology degree from Carleton University (with a concentration in Developmental Psychology), a Graduate Certificate in Concurrent Disorders (Addiction and Mental Health) from Confederation College, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.

Jennifer Riles, RSW
Jenn is a Registered Social Worker through the New Brunswick Social Workers Association as well as the Nova Scotia Social Worker’s Association. She grew up in a military family, living in Manitoba, Ontario, Alberta, Germany and New Brunswick. She now considers Fredericton NB her hometown. As an adult, she has moved around Canada, most recently coming home after more than 7 years in Iqaluit, NU.
Jenn enjoys listening to podcasts (yes, mostly true crime), doing puzzles, cross stitching, and spending time outside. She has been in the human services field for more than 15 years, starting out as a human services worker for a child with autism. This led her to go back to school and become a social worker.
She has received a Bachelor of Arts with honours in Criminology and a Bachelor of Social Work from Saint Thomas University, and a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University. She has had many roles as a social worker, including front line child protection, poverty reduction, policy reform, crime prevention and management over unique programs in Nunavut. Jenn has worked as a therapist for the last two years and believes this is where she belongs. She likes being part of new and innovative mental health treatments she believes have the potential to change the field of mental health for the better.
Jenn can offer support for concerns such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, ADHD and stress. Jenn offers sessions to individuals aged 12 and up. She approaches her work with a cultural and trauma informed lens as well as meeting the client where they are and creating a personalized plan for their therapy journey.
